Fictional Rooms

A short project I completed at the beginning of my third year at university. 'Fictional Rooms' went through a number of changes, before I finally settled on the idea of creating miniature sets and staged environments.

I had chosen a number of fictional works and fairy tales to explore in this project, before creating a set based off of one of my favourite novels; Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.

 

I took passages from the novel, and used it to construct my own version of Elphaba's room; creating numerous models and props to use inside the set, and using heavier, more direct lighting, to help create the 'staged' feel I wanted to achieve. I remember this project being particularly difficult because of the short time restriction, however it is still one of my most fond projects and one I wish to revisit.
